I'll believe in you all my life.

okay so nothing has really happened at all with me the past few days. I've been really bored!!
the only thing I've really done is watch movies(never really thought about it before but -movie- is a really weird word) and there is one in particular i want to talk about.

i watched E.T yesterday for the first time in years. id forgotten just how much i used to love it when i was growing up...i remember the first time i ever saw it was when i was on holiday in Queensland with my family, i was probably 3 or 4 at the time and it scared me to death. The day after we went to Seaworld and my parents took me on The Bermuda Triangle, which is a water ride and theres aliens and stuff throughout it, i was terrified and to this day cant go on it lol. i eventually saw it when i was a little bit older and i quickly fell in love with it and watched it repeatitivly.

After watching it again recently, i was surprised how quickly i fell back into that same love for it. As soon as it had finished and the credits rolled i wanted to play it again from the start. Instead i forced myself to remove the DVD and replace it with the Special Features disc. Now as a film student i love my 'audio commenties' and 'making of's' and ET didnt lack that. There was a creating of ET feature which absolutely took my breath away at seeing exactly how the magic of ET was created. the reunion feature was awesome, seeing the cast together again 20 yrs later and seeing how much they have changed, especially the kids and the Music of John Williams was just spectacular.

After watching the movie and the features, my love and respect of Steven Speilberg and John Williams has grown immensly. I actually jumped onto imdb and checked out Speilbergs (forever growing) list of films he has done and while i knew most of them there where many there i loved and watched while growing up, and still to this day cherish, that i never realised where his films. He has such an amazing talent to take a simple story and turn it into an amazing film that buries itself deep in your heart and no matter what, when you go back to watch it, it always touches you.

John Williams has been in my life as long as, if not longer than, Speilberg, with his amazing movie scores accompaning some of the worlds greatest films. To this day i still get shivers (good ones) whenever i hear the themes from movies such as ET, Starwars, Indiana Jones, Jaws, Harry Potter, Superman and Jurassic Park. amoungst many many others. Together they make an amazing team that have worked on over 18 movies together over the years, all which steal you away from reality into the magical world of film.

After Watching ET and feeling drawn into the movie so much that i wanted to watch it all over again straight away when it ended (an event that only occurs with very few films), gave me a renewed inspiration and energy into what i want to do. i want to make people feel like that, be completely drawn into the film, like nothing else in the world matters at the time. i know it will be hard work, but i want to get there, maybe not directing or one of the other massive roles, but just to be able to work on a film like that would be the greatest honour. id give anything for that opportunity, and the only way im going to get it is if i work for it, and im not gonna give up trying no matter how long it takes.

Fail Blog

Okay, ive decided, im gonna do my best to keep this thing up to date, try and blog everyday and all that. i used to be on Livejournal and that was just fail haha, i think i posted maybe 3 blogs in a year. i really want to give this a good go though.

so basically like every one else im going to use this to post my thoughts and the happenings of my life, minus the gory details. i mean come on, this isnt a diary for crying out loud haha so if you're here too snoop bugger off. im not a great writer either, as you can probably already tell, so sorry if my posts lack any excitement or intrigue...i also lead a pretty boring life...so you've been warned. dont complain if you find my posts boring, i couldnt really care, this blog is for me, not for your personal entertainment =D any constructive critisim on my writing technique is MUCH appreciated though lol

i had a really good weekend this weekend. things have been a little messed up in my life lately, so it was good to get away. Friday night i met up with all my mates for the first time in ages. i like to call them my gang, they are always heaps of fun to be with and can make you forget anything thats going on. So we all met up and went and had dinner on Lygon Street at a resturant called 'Key on the Wall' it was a realy nice place and was awesome to be with everybody and to just be able to chat (unlike when in the clubs). After that we headed to a lounge on Sydney Rd, we all just chilled and and joked around for a bit, it was well cool.

I spent most of Saturday at home but then headed out in the arvo to the city, i went and bought 'Britannia High' (an English TV show about a bunch of teens in a performing arts school) and then headed to Bianca and Kieras, where i was staying for the night. The three of us headed down to North Melbourne and had dinner together. After dinner, Bianca headed home and kiera and i made our way (across the rd) to the Lithuanian Club, (note: i love melbourne! while waiting in line two guys walked past in leotards, one had one arm down is back and the other had hotpants with genitilia painted on haha) where we went and saw Josh Thomas. He is really pretty damn awesome haha, he put on an awesome comedy act. the audience was full of teeney bopper fangirls which was rather pathetically amusing lol they were so over the top! to the point where after he came out, he actually said he felt like a Jonas brother (which we all no is NOT a good thing lol) and at the end of the show a girl threw her bra on the stage...WTF!!? lol it made for good lulz though haha

we headed back to B and Kieras, (stopping for slushies on the way) where we all hung out for a bit. After awhile Kiera headed to bed and Bianca and I stayed up watching Britannia High....till 3 in the morning :p

Sunday we all got up and Kiera headed out for a wander and B and i wandered down to woolworths and got some bread and cheese and headed back home to make cheese sandwhiches which we proceeded to make and eat whilst watching Brit High. so our day continued along those lines till we had to go meet Ally at southern cross, so we went and got her and headed back to the apartment where we continued to hang out. i unfortunatly had to head home, so i said my farewells and began my not-so-long-but-very-lonely walk back to southern cross where i was to get my train and go back to face reality. On my way back though i randomly bumped into my mate Brad who i havent seen in ages!!! it was so good to see him again, even if it was only for a few minutes =D

i love when random stuff like that happens, it always makes me smile!
this blog is way longer than i expected, which i guess is a good thing, but i better wind it up before it gets too long (if its not already :S)
thanks for reading
xoxo

“Somebody once said, "To write well, you have to write what you know." Well, here is what I know...” – Never Been Kissed

My Names Rhianna, i was named after the Fleetwood Mac song Rhiannon by request of my cousin. my parents changed it to Rhianna as Rhiannon means white witch...when you look up the meaning for my name it most often still comes up with white witch. I came into the world on the 4th of may 1990 (you do the math to figure out my age) and i am currently studying Screen and Media. i dont know where my life is headed or what im gonna do with it but i do know im gonna enjoy every minute of it.
